Yingchao Yang, Postdoctoral Research Associate, has been Yingchaoworking with Prof. Jun Lou in the Department of Materials Science and NanoEngineering at Rice University since January 2014. Dr. Yang received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering under the guidance of Prof. Xiaodong (Chris) Li from the University of South Carolina-Columbia in December 2013. Dr. Yang received his M.S. and B.S. in Materials Science in 2006 and 2004, respectively. Dr. Yang’s research interests cover a broad area: synthesis and in-situ mechanical investigation of low-dimensional nanomaterials, fabrication and interface mechanics of nanocomposites, design/development of micro-/nano-mechanical devices, hybrid materials for water treatment, biomass converted valuable carbon materials, and electron microscopy. Dr. Yang has authored/coauthored 49 peer-reviewed papers including 1 in Scientific Reports, 4 in Advanced Materials, 5 in Nano Letters2 in Acta Materialia, 1 in Small, and 4 in Carbon, among others.
